UPDATE! Officials with only MD county with an indoor dining ban speak out

I live in Montgomery County...the Gaithersburg/Damascus area, to be exact. And it's been so hard to see the restaurants here struggle so much. Things were looking up last year once residents were allowed to dine indoors. Then that ban came down, and obviously, owners and employees are frustrated that MoCo is the only county in the state of Maryland that still forbids the option of dining inside.

Well, some county officials have spoken out about why that's the case. County Council President Tom Hucker says “we all want” indoor dining to resume..."We all miss it.” But, he continues, “According to the data, since we closed indoor dining in Montgomery County, our cases associated with the restaurant workers still on their jobs are down 60%.”

Hucker adds that MoCo is seeing progress in reducing the spread of the virus and that health officials are looking at the issue of indoor dining returning.

UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...a measure to allow eating inside at restaurants at 25% capacity starting on Tuesday, February 9th, was sent to the County Council yesterday. There would be a one-hour limit per table.
