"Demonic" dog up for adoption goes viral after truthful description

An animal shelter in New Jersey is hoping that honesty is the best approach to finding someone to adopt a Chihuahua who has been described as "demonic," "neurotic," and "man-hating."

A foster who has been caring for the two-year-old pup, named Prancer, isn't sugar coating anything in her description of the dog. Tyfanee Fortuna posted an appeal for adopters on Facebook, writing "There’s not a very big market for neurotic, man-hating, animal-hating, children-hating dog that look like a gremlin. But I have to believe there’s someone out there for Prancer, because I am tired and so is my family. Every day we live in the grips of the demonic Chihuahua hellscape he has created in our home."

Fortuna makes it very clear that Prancer should only be with women who do not live with males, children or other dogs, explaining that "Prancer only likes women. Nothing else. He hates men more than women do, which says a lot. If you have a husband, don’t bother applying, unless you hate him." But Prancer does have some good qualities. He is housebroken, loyal, and understands a few commands. If anyone living within a four-hour drive of New Jersey is interested in adopting Prancer, they can reach out to the Second Chance Pet Adoption League in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, and the foster says interested parties should understand he "will probably live to be 21 through pure spite, so take that into account if you’re interested." Amazingly, the post has gone viral and has even drawn interest from potential adopters around the world.
