DC announces its' plans for July 4th festivities

July 4th in the Nation's Capital will be an "Independence From Virus" celebration...a event to mark a "Summer Of Freedom" after the awfulness that was the summer of 2020.

The White House will be hosting first responders, essential workers and military families that day and while the traditional July 4th parade isn't happening again this year, FIREWORKS WILL!

On Independence Day at 9:09pm, a 17-minute display will go off from both sides of the Reflecting Pool. Spectators will be allowed on the Mall, with more details to come.

And there are several other places you can view the fireworks if you don't wanna go downtown...they include Gravelly Point, along the George Washington Parkway, Netherlands Carillon, Columbia Island and the Washington Sailing Marina.
