I think I'm a pretty good driver. I've only gotten one speeding ticket in my life (I was young)...I use my turn signal...I always stop at stop signs. I always stop for school buses - well, ALMOST always.
I, uh, recently got a piece of mail from the Montgomery County School Bus Program, informing me that I had failed on a certain day at a certain time to stop for a school bus that was letting kids off.
I DID WHAT??????????????????????????
I am MORTIFIED that this happened. That I am guilty of this infraction. That I broke a law. HOW could this have happened?
It definitely did...there's a picture of my car, plain as day. And there's the bus, stopped.
Wow. I feel AWFUL about this AND it's costing me a steep fine: $250.
I share this as a reminder to us all to pay attention when we're behind the wheel - because it's important - and not doing what you're supposed to do can be expensive!
