McDonald's is thanking teachers for all their hard work – by giving them free "Thank You Meals" this week. From October 11th to October 15th, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel can get a free breakfast from McDonald's when they show their school ID.
And to continue the gratitude, McDonald's wants people to share stories on social media about teachers who changed their lives, using the hashtag #ThankYouMeal. (Delish)
Meanwhile, McDonald’s has announced that it’s pledging to offer sustainable Happy Meal toys made with dramatically less plastic by the end of 2025. The chain says it started to cut its use of virgin fossil fuel-based plastic in its toys in 2018 and has already reduced that use by 30%.
Amy Murray, McDonald’s vice president of global marketing enablement, says that children and parents alike have been asking for more sustainable toys. More than 100 countries worldwide sell Happy Meals, and if the company hits this new target, the company will have cut its use of virgin fossil fuel-based plastic by 90%.
