Not one but TWO more chances for snow this week in the DMV!

My fellow snow bunnies, how lucky have we gotten so far this month?! And now, we're looking at TWO more chances of the white stuff this week!

Let me break it down with what we know at this point. After a rather mild day today, rain and a cold front are on the way. It'll begin raining tonight - which means area roadways can't be pretreated - and as the arctic air settles in, the rain will change to snow. By the time tomorrow morning's commute rolls around, we COULD have 2 inches of snow on the roads. So in addition to being slippery, the trucks will be out putting down brine. And that could results in backups and obviously, accidents. One local meteorologist is advising to stay off the roads tomorrow morning.

Snow showers could continue through the afternoon, and with the cold temps, the roads could remain dicey. Just an fyi.

THEN, Friday night into Saturday could bring us another round of snow. According to 7NewsDC, "the core of the system is trending farther south and east. Areas along and east of I-95 have the best chance to see light snow, southern Maryland a bit more. The "jackpot" area may be around the Norfolk area."

We'll keep you updated!
