My Toddler is Learning Italian... I think

Since we got the tickets for Italy this summer, I've been trying to get my daughter to learn a few words and mainly get comfortable around the language.  We work with Rosetta Stone (she calls it playing the "Italian Game") and try to speak more Italian at home.  It certainly helps me, and my husband who is also learning, but with her being so young, I wonder if she's really absorbing anything.  Have you had experience with teaching a child a second language?  What's the best way for them to learn?
