Eleanor's Last Day of The Goddard School Left Me With So Many Emotions

I have been dreaming of this day since I found out how much childcare was going to cost, when I was about 10 weeks pregnant. To be completely honest, I wouldn't have gotten pregnant if I knew how much it would be, because I would have said to you, there is no way we can afford that. Did we afford it for 5 years? We did. Could we afford it? We could not. We sold our condo that we bought at the beach in Delaware after renting proved impossible for us to break even. We racked up credit card debt and never bought anything. Out to dinner? Nope? New clothes? Not unless they were for her. We finally stopped renting last December when we bought our "forever" home in the great MOCO school district of Olney so that we had great public schools to look forward to for Eleanor. Now that we have paid our last check to Goddard and Eleanor transitions from preschool and pre-K to Kindergarten in public elementary school, I look back on these 5 years with such gratitude and would do it the same way if we were to have another child. To all the parents who put in the sacrifice to give the best so their children are safe and happy while we go to work, and put those little babies in daycare way too early after just 11 weeks of maternity leave... it's worth the work, it's worth the sacrifice and you are doing it. They end up being amazing little people at the end of all those sacrifices.
