If you drive across the Bay Bridge in Maryland, you know this ongoing construction has been a HUGE headache for travelers. The backups to cross the bridge have gotten as long as 5 hours, mostly on Friday afternoons. The worst part may be that this construction isn't going anywhere soon. This daunting two year long project will affect both East and West bound traffic because they are no alternating lane closures so sometimes West bound traffic leaving the Eastern Shore only has 1 lane getting across. Governor Larry Hogan released a statement today on what can be done to alleviate this headache, as much as possible.
