A study of 65,000 post-menopausal women shows that women in some jobs have a higher risk of heart disease than others. Social workers, retail cashiers, nurses, psychiatric healthcare providers, home health aides, and registered nurses. Social workers and retail cashiers are over 30% more likely to suffer from heart disease. Those women in the fields of nursing, psychiatric healthcare providers, home health aides and registered nurses are about 15% more likely to suffer from heart disease.
On the flip side, real estate brokers and sales agents showed 24% less chance of heart problems. Finally, administrative assistants had an 11% less chance of heart problems.
