The Washington National Cathedral is preparing to host a four day blood drive next week, April 15th through the 18th. There is a severe blood shortage in both the DMV and the nation, but since COVID-19 is making it so difficult for individuals to donate blood given social distancing and quarantines throughout the country, the Red Cross has had to implement new guidelines in order for donors to safely donate blood. You'll find that volunteers will all be wearing masks and gloves. Those coming in to donate blood with undergo an overall health checkup, and have their temperature taken. Hopefully this will keep everyone safe as they come in to donate blood and potentially save a life.
