It's been a month since social distancing orders have been put in place across the DMV, and based on this study conducted by the University of Maryland, DC is doing it better than most states in the nation. While DC doesn't have the federal funding our states do, they are still reporting lower death and infection rates and are also more successful at social distancing based on this research. Hawaii and New York let the nation with the best scores and DC rounds out the top 5 with a score of 71 out of 100. Maryland wasn't far behind with a score of 66, but Virginia was tied in 19th place with a score of 58.
