This is such sad news. After ten years in business, local music venue U Street Music Hall has closed its doors.. The venue released the statement below on Twitter on Monday:
U Street Music Hall is one of many local music venues struggling to stay open during the pandemic. There is no end is site to the all out ban on concerts because of the pandemic, and unfortunately there has been no relief from the federal government. Music lovers and music venues alike have been urging our government leaders to pass the Save Our Stages act, in order for these live music venues to receive some financial relief to keep their doors open. Live music will return one day when this is all behind us, but if action isn't taken soon we will see a number of other local music venues, and venues across the nation, forced to close their doors
