Another Christmas tradition is put on hold this year because of COVID-19, the lighting of the National Christmas Tree. While the tree has been lit since Monday, November 30th there were no performers nor were there spectators allowed to watch. However, we now have the opportunity to livestream the lighting from the comfort of our homes. Today, Thursday December 3rd, the livestream of the lighting of the National Christmas tree for 2020 can be found here. In addition, the National Tree website delves deeper into the memories and celebrations of years past, as this is the 98th year of the DC tradition. Here's hoping next year we'll be braving the elements together and back to the watching the lighting of the tree live from the ellipse, a time honored DC tradition.
