After yesterday's news, I am more than happy to share which sandwiches you should try in the DMV right now. Seriously. We need something light to discuss.
Washingtonian Magazine has narrowed down five sandwiches that are a must try. Personally, I'm interested in "The National" at Melange on K St. NW. It's a mashup, if you will, of a friend chicken sandwich and something called doro wat which is the chef's native Ethiopian chicken stew.
If you're more of an Italian sandwich person, you may want to try the "Salami & Slaw" at Fight club on Pennsylvania Ave, NW. What takes this sandwich up a notch is the crispy salami, that the chef flash fries before piling it hight against the cool and creamy coleslaw.
