A Columbia Heights street vendor who has been dishing up tasty Puerto Rican food on 14th street found all of his cooking equipment destroyed by an unidentified person. Eliezer Albino had been working along 14th street since he lost his job at the Washington Convention Center due to COVID-19. He started a GoFundMe asking the community for $2500 to get new equipment so he could get back up and running. He has since raised close to $9,000, plus the attention of famous DC chef/philanthropist Jose Andres who also wants to get Albino his own food truck so he doesn't have to worry about vandals anymore. What a great feel good store from right here in DC!
