Did you see the smoke in North Bethesda today? I saw so many of my friends on Instagram post these images on their stories this afternoon. Turns out the cause of the smoke was a fire that began in an HVAC unit that was being worked on in the Monterey apartment building along Montrose Road. Thirty Montgomery County emergency vehicles were called in to put out the fire and respond to the billowing smoke, and 75 personnel were on the scene. Fortunately it doesn't sound like there were any reported injuries which is great news. It does sound like there was severe water damage done to the apartment building. What a scene! Check out pictures and videos from WJLA.
