It's been 52 years since seven LaPlata High School students staged a sit-in protest for racial justice in 1969. Unfortunately, their stand for racial equality cost them their diploma back then. Today, these seven individuals were finally given their diploma. In February of 2020 the NAACP allowed these students to walk, but today it was made paper official.
I'm so glad these individuals were given their diplomas but it's 2021, what took LaPlata High School and the NAACP so long to right this wrong? What do you think? Do you think this should have been resolved years ago, or do you think they are lucky to have been given their diplomas?
