DC Has Released a Number of Cooling Centers to Beat this Extreme Heat

DC summers mean incredibly hot days with high humidity, and this week is no different. While we got a little reprieve from the oppressive temperatures over the weekend, the heat and humidity are back for a majority of this week. Fortunately DC has released a number of cooling centers throughout the entire city where residents can cool off, especially for DC's homeless, and those who don't have AC in their homes. This is always the time when the AC goes on the fritz since it's working overtime to cool off your home, and sometimes an older unit may just give out. It happened to me on the hottest week of the year when I lived in Wilmington, DE. To make matter worse, I was in my first trimester with Eleanor. I fell asleep holding onto an ice pack. Crazy, but it definitely helps!

Stay cool and hydrated!
