PHOTOS: Tornado Touches Down in Annapolis

It was a tense start to the afternoon. Schools across the DMV announced they would be closing early because of the severe weather expected by the remnants of Ida. The storms overnight caused its own issues with flooding, trees and wires down and even a 19 year old Rockville man lost his life due to flooding.

This afternoon spread its own fear through areas of Anne Arundel County, when a tornado warning was issued for close to an hour. A tornado touched down in Edgewater and did damage to a number of business, roadways, power lines and even a gas station. I heard a restaurant in downtown Annapolis lost its roof. If I can find confirmation and photos I will update.

Below are pictures of the damage assessed so far. We're not completely out of the woods yet. A tornado watch remains in effect through 7pm tonight. Be careful driving around and watch for those low lying areas with high standing water.
