Experts Recommend These Questions To See How Your Young Child is Adjusting

If you know me, you know I value my health and that of my family which most certainly includes mental health. I was really interested to read this article because I have been wondering how to gauge how Eleanor is doing now that she's back to in-person learning full time. Eleanor was in the middle of Kindergarten when the pandemic hit. She finished out her Kindergarten year and spent all of First Grade in virtual learning. It was rough. I remember her saying one day last year, "Every day I'm just a little bit sad". That was the catalyst for reaching out to the school counselor to just give her an outlet to share her feelings.

This article gives you much more specific questions to ask your young child to see how they are adjusting to in-person learning. Instead of "How was your day?" experts share a number of more specific questions to help guide your child with more opportunity to share their feelings, fears, hopes and truths.
