The Silver Spring community is rallying around its neighbors who were affected by the devastating apartment building explosion nearly two weeks ago. The gas was accidentally cut by maintenance at the Friendly Garden Apartments in Silver Spring. Much of the building collapsed, people were injured and families displaced. Officials say 41 families have had to find new homes, including 124 adults and 26 children.
But they are not alone in their journey to build back. Their community just outside the DC line has raised over $500,000 to help them get back on their feet. There is still time for you to donate as well.
