Mystery Of Stolen Office Lunch Captivates Internet.

Bringing lunch to the office can certainly save you money, but that  usually means storing your food in a communal fridge, which can be  risky, because there’s always a chance someone may snatch your meal.  Well, that’s exactly what happened at one office in California, and  after a guy live-tweeted the intriguing mystery of his co-worker’s  stolen lunch, and the story quickly went viral.

Zak Toscani, a comedian who works at a post  production company, detailed the drama that went down after a  co-worker’s shrimp fried rice was taken from the fridge, and it has  since been shared over 150,000 times. Instead of just accepting that the  meal was gone, security let them watch footage to find out the identity  of the thief, determining it was a female co-worker who sat right next  to Zak and who didn’t even eat the food, just threw it in the garbage.

The wronged co-worker didn’t want the thief fired, but HR sent out a  company-wide email warning about stealing people’s lunches, and when the  culprit read it she was actually heard saying, “Woah. Someone stole a  lunch? Who would do something like that?,” with Zak noting, “We’re all  about to start screaming.”

Although the woman never confessed, Zak notes that basically everyone  in the office knows she’s guilty, adding, “She now carries an invisible  scarlet letter.” Zak tried to push the issue further, by ordering three  orders of shrimp fried rice for the office to see her reaction, but Zak  reveals she just happily ate it, adding, “This is utter ruthlessness.”

Unfortunately, Zak and his colleagues never did find out why she  would steal and throw away her co-worker’s food. He noted, “I wish I  could close this up with a neat little bow, but, it appears that we may  never know why she did it. Maybe she doesn’t know she did it. Either way  I’m now forced to work 40hrs a week next to a cold blooded individual.”
