Sesame Place, a theme park near Philadelphia based on the popular kids’ TV show “Sesame Street, has become the first in the world to get an autism accreditation. The new certification means all their employees have been trained and receive ongoing training in the “skills, temperament and expertise” required to work with families and children with special needs.
The park will have quiet rooms for children and a sensory guide to help parents navigate their visits to Sesame Place and explain how each attraction could affect their child’s sensory processing issues. April is National Autism Awareness Month and the park will reopen for its new season at the end of April.
