I was asked a few weeks ago if I'd be interested in promoting Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I said YES without hesitating because I have so many fond memories going to the theme park with my family. My son is four-years old and I thought he was the perfect age to visit his first big theme park.
We told him about our upcoming trip two weeks in advance. Donato woke up every morning asking if it was time to go to the theme park yet. We showed him YouTube videos of some of the rides to get him ready. He was SO EXCITED on the day we left (Friday morning).
We drove straight to the hotel, dropped off our luggage and headed to the park. We were on our first ride by 1pm. My husband and I had no idea what to expect. We weren't sure which rides Donato would be okay going on. He gets spooked pretty easily.
Thankfully, Busch Gardens has plenty of options for kids his age.
After exploring the park for a couple of hours, Donato had gone on all the rides he wanted to go on. We knew it was time to ride the train. In case you don't know, the amazing steam train goes around the park with several stops to help you get around. Roundtrip lasts about 25-minutes. How do we know? Because we rode it half a dozen times! Yes, Donato was OBSESSED with the train. The engineer quickly realized how much Donato loved the train (since we never got off...lol), he posed for a pic with him.
We're hoping Donato is brave enough to go on more rides the next time we visit. I bet in a few years, we're going to have a tough time getting him off rollercoasters instead of the train. LOL.
