Teacher Request For Backpacks Instead Of Flowers At Her Funeral!

After serving her community as a paraprofessional and elementary school teacher in Forsyth County, Georgia, Tammy Waddell never stopped thinking of students. When she passed away earlier this month after battling cancer, she asked loved ones to bring backpacks filled with school supplies for student in need, instead of flowers.

Nearly 100 teachers served as honorary pallbearers, bringing the backpacks from the chapel to their schools, according to Waddell’s cousin, Dr. Brad Johnson.

“My cousin’s final request at her funeral was backpacks full of supplies for needy students. A teacher to the end,” Johnson captioned his photo on Twitter. “It was heartwarming.
