Ghosting Has Moved To The Workplace!

Ghosting (verb) - The act of suddenly ceasing all communication with someone. This is done in hopes that the ghostee will just "get the hint" and leave the subject alone, as opposed to the subject simply telling them he/she is no longer interested.

Watch out folks – ghosting has exited the dating sphere. You can now be ghosted in many aspects of your life…including the workplace. It seems more millennials are finding themselves ghosting or being ghosted by their employers. And if you ask us, it’s really not cute.

Various companies have reported that anywhere from 20-50% of job applicants are no-shows when it comes to the actual interview! And that’s not the only way we’re ghosting in the workplace. There are people accepting job offers and not showing up for the first day! There are even people ghosting existing positions by simply not showing up anymore. It’s craziness!

Let’s change the statistic so that companies don’t feel weird about hiring millennials, shall we? Go ahead and ghost your crappy and disrespectful dates, but it’s unprofessional to ghost in the workplace!
