Couple Ask For Guests To Pay $1,500 To Attend Their Wedding!

There are bridezillas and then there are huge bridezillas, and one Canadian bride just may prove to be one of the worst ones out there.

A bride-to-be named Susan revealed on Facebook that she and her fiancé called off their wedding just a few days before the big event because not enough guests were willing to shell out the required $1,500 to attend. Yes, you read that right, the couple wanted such an extravagant affair that they expected their guests to pay for it, or not attend.

“We'd sacrificed so much and only asked each guest for around $1,500. We talked to a few people who even promised us more to make our dream come true,” she wrote. “So our request for $1,500 for all other guests was not f***ing out of the ordinary. Like, we made it clear. If you couldn't contribute, you weren't invited to our exclusive wedding. It's a once and a lifetime party [sic].”

But apparently, most guests thought it was unreasonable, since only eight people responded yes and sent in checks. She noted, “We were f***ing livid,” adding, “How was this supposed to happen without a little help from our friends.” Still hoping to get others to pay for their affair they set up a GoFundMe page, but only received $250 in donations. And then when the groom suggested they elope, the bride went off on him, and the wedding, and engagement were called off.

Although the bride eventually took the post down, a few friends did comment on her rant, noting, “I have no words. You're out of your mind, Susan,” and “What happened to you??? Who on hell expects that amount of money?" Meanwhile, after someone posted a screenshot of the whole rant on Reddit, some questioned whether or not the whole thing was true or not, but a cousin insisted it was the real thing.
