If you’re like most people, you get a little nervous when it comes to making a first impression. Whether it’s a job interview, a date, or just meeting someone you think you’d be friends with – it’s nerve-wracking! There’s always a chance they won’t like you, and we’re all hyper aware of it when it comes down to it. The good news? There’s a pretty good chance that your first impression went a lot better than you think.
A study in the journal “Psychological Science” shows that there’s a huge gap between how we think our initial impression went and how it actually went. And the gap is in our favor!! Whenever you meet someone new, you’re so wrapped up in how they’re going to perceive you that you forget to take a look at how well you’re actually doing.
On top of that, you’re so wrapped up in how you’re doing that you don’t actually notice what the other person is up to. Have you even thought about how THEY’RE making an impression on you too? The trick is to worry less about the whole thing. If you worry less, you’ll be able to be the best, relaxed version of you that you want people to see!
