There’s always some new skincare trend that’s supposed to be better than what we were using before and this one involves washing your face. There are all kinds of ways to cleanse your skin without using water from the sink, like cleansing oils, micellar water, and makeup-removing wipes. But these days, people are taking their sparkling water addiction to the extreme and washing their faces with it. And it turns out, it’s actually a good thing for your complexion.
Miami-based dermatologist Roberta Del Campo explains that bubbly water has the same pH as our skin. And she says the carbonated water can improve blood supply to your skin, giving you a brighter, rosier complexion.
“I am a tried and true proponent of this new trend, not only as a dermatologist, but as someone who has implemented this into my skin care routine,” Not only is this technique actually beneficial, it is also invigorating and can be a great way to wake up your skin in the morning.”
Of course, the kind of cleanser you use still makes a difference, no matter what kind of water you’re using. And using seltzer definitely costs more than what comes out of the bathroom sink, but this skin care trend could be worth it.
