Halloween costumes are always changing with the times, and what’s popular now was certainly not popular, or even around, back when you were a kid and dressing up.
So, how much have things really changed? Well, the site Rave Reviews has come out with their list of the most popular Halloween costumes, breaking costumes down by decade, and you can definately see the costume shift. The site judged costumes on things like cultural relevance, detail, expense and more.
According to the site, the most popular costume for the 1980s was any character from "Star Wars," while in the 1990s it was the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, the 2000s it was Harry Potter, and in the current decade it’s Marvel’s Avengers.
