You Can Hate Valentine's Day at this BreakUp Bar!

It’s that time of year again, romance and chocolate are in the air and that means Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. There are plenty of people out there who are totally into the love-themed holiday, but there are also lots of folks who find it stressful and annoying and some of them are even coupled up. And they are the reason The BreakUp Bar exist.

It’s a pop-up bar in Los Angeles that’s open now through Valentine’s Day and it was created as a sort of anti-Valentine venue by trained sommelier Evan Chasten . He says BreakUp Bar is the “culmination of working way too many Valentine’s Day dinners in hospitality,” where the evening can be “hell on Earth for a busy restaurant.”

BreakUp Bar is a small space that features a 10-foot screen showing classic breakup movies and something called the Wall of Broken Relationships, where people’s text message break ups are on display. They serve fun snacks and desserts to go with the creatively named specialty cocktails, including “A Cold Day in Hell,” “Ghosted,” “Serious Baggage,” and our favorite, “I Dealt With Your Parents For Years.”
