NASA Says The First Person On Mars Will Be A Woman!

Want to get more girls interested in STEM? Maybe telling them that the first person to visit Mars will probably be a woman will do the trick. And according to the head of NASA, a woman will “likely” be the one to make those achievements.
In an interview with “Science Friday,” a science and technology radio show, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine said that the next American astronaut to return to the Moon will also be a woman, if things go as planned. And that’ll make her the first woman on the Moon. He says “NASA is committed to making sure that we have a broad and diverse set of talent,” adding, “We’re looking forward to the first woman on the Moon.”
But before that happens, there’s still a lot going on for the women at NASA now. The agency recently announced that later this month - which happens to be Women’s History Month - the first all-female spacewalk on the International Space Station will happen. Astronauts Anne McClain and Christina Koch will conduct the spacewalk on March 29th, supported back on Earth by flight directors Mary Lawrence and Kristen Facciol at NASA’s Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
