While a lot of people dread waking up each morning and heading to the office, it turns out a lot of people out there don’t really hate their job, although they don’t necessarily love it either
A new study by staffing services firm Kforce finds that a majority of Americans would rate their overall job a B-, although certain aspects of their gig get graded differently. When it comes to day-to-day tasks, workers give their job a B (85%), while work/life balance rates a B- (81%), as does company morale and their benefits package.
Depending on your gender you may have a different opinion about certain aspects of your job though. In fact, women scored their jobs a full grade point lower than men in such areas as potential for growth, company morale and benefits.
The study also notes that 58% of men and 47% of women love their job, something 67% of Americans think is very important. Loving what you do is so important that close to half of office workers say they would take a pay cut if it meant pursing their passion, with workers willing to get paid as much as 29% less for a job they loved.
