#HERO: 13-year-old opens bakery. Sells cupcakes. Feeds the Homeless in DC!

Cupcakes... can indeed spark change.

The Washington Post has an amazing story featuring Bowie resident Michael Platt. He's 13. At 11, he founded a bakery which sells cookies, cupcakes and cakes. For every one he sells, Michael donates a cupcake to the homeless and the hungry. Twice a month, he goes to domestic violence shelters. Transitional housing units. Even out to the streets of DC to pass out his confections.

That's.... leadership. That's called making DC a better place. That... is inspirational.

Read Michael's story... the great reporting by the Washington Post is embedded below. Amazing stuff.

Hey... Michael... thanks for making the DMV a better place.
