Situationships vs. Relationships!

Are you in a situation where you’re kind of in a relationship, but not really? It’s kind of like a booty call, or friends with benefits, but these days, the dating slang is calling this kind of situational relationship a situationship. Some people love them because there’s less commitment or label, but if one person develops feelings and wants more, it can all fall apart. So how do you know if you’re in a situationship? These are the signs to watch out for.

  • You don’t text or call each other much- You don’t communicate like a couple, only to make a plan.
  • You don’t go out on actual dates- You just get together.
  • Your relationship does not have labels- If someone asked if you were dating, the answer isn’t yes.
  • You avoid meeting each other’s friends- And you don’t get too involved in each other’s lives.
  • There’s no cutesy or loving stuff -You’re mostly just spending time together because it beats being alone.
  • You don’t make any plans together- No vacations, no weekends away, and no discussions of the future, only last-minute plans.
  • You steer clear of each other’s families- Your family has no idea about this person or your situationship.
  • You are in limbo- You’re single, but not really. You’re sort of dating, but not like with a real relationship. It’s like you’re stuck in time and you’re just hanging out while you wait. That’s fine if you’re into it, but if not, it’s probably time to move on.
