Your Manager Knows You're Burnt Out!

No matter how much someone may love their job, there usually comes a point where folks experience some sort of burnout, and if you think you are doing a good job of hiding it from your boss, you are likely mistaken.

A new survey finds that 96% of senior managers believe their staff is experiencing some level of burnout, with 20% saying that on a scale of one to ten, their staff is at an eight or higher, although the average was a 5-point-6.

And it sounds like managers aren’t that far off, since a separate survey of employees finds that 91% admit to being somewhat burnt out, with the average level also a 5-point-6, although 28% say it falls in the range of eight to 10.

So, what is causing all this burnout? Well, when you ask managers, they say the top factor is unmanageable workload, followed by:

  • Career stagnation
  • Constant interruptions
  • Toxic culture
  • Dated technology

But when you ask employees, the top factor is constant interruptions, followed by:
