More than 100 people packed into a public hearing in the very exclusive Chevy Chase Village in Maryland to argue about a local dog park that some residents claim is ruining their way of life.
Neighbors who live directly beside the park complained that they found their lives disrupted by the barking dogs, the carelessness of their owners and the nuisance of outsiders’ cars parked in front of their homes. Some of the players involved in this fight include the wife of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell, a former attorney general of Maryland; loads of lawyers; Chubbs, a 5-month-old golden retriever.
After months of arguing, the board has agreed to shut down the dog park.
