Most People Find Their Favorite Band at Age 13

Your teenage years are a really big deal. Your brain is maturing, your body is changing, and there are some even more important things at work like finding your favorite musician.

According to a new survey, most people find their favorite artist at the ripe old age of 13. Crazy to think that the poster you put up on the wall was like etching a band into your memory for life. And it appears those “parental advisory” stickers aren’t working because most people said they were exposed to explicit music at 12-and-a-half.

So hopefully you had some super cool people hanging out with you back then because they’re the biggest influence on your taste. The survey found the top five influencers in people’s music taste during childhood are friends, radio, movies, father, followed by their mother.Sorry, mom.TV, concerts, siblings, social media, and other hobbies round out the rest of the top 10.
