People Are Throwing Away Their Stimulus Payment

Make sure you are checking you mail thoroughly, it could contain your stimulus payment.

The U.S. Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service began sending out Economic Impact Payments as prepaid debit cards last week but there is a problem. These Visa cards are being issued by MetaBank and delivered in plain envelopes from Money Network Cardholder Services and look like those fake cards you get from credit card companies to open an account.

More reports of people mistaking these for junk mail, or even a scam, have been popping up across the country. And, in some cases, people have even thrown away the debit cards containing their long-awaited stimulus money before they realized their mistake.

Several users have also complained on Twitter that they mistook their EIP Cards for junk mail:

So if you haven't received your stimulus check yet...check your mail...or your trash.
