#NSFW - The Four Messages That Caused Me To Delete Dating Apps For Lent

I am very single right now. Honestly, I have been single for years and I've recently decided to give up these dating apps for Lent because of the interesting messages I have received.

With my schedule and the pandemic, dating apps are really the only way I get to meet people and normally I love meeting guys on Hinge, Bumble, Tinder, etc but lately, I have been getting signs to delete these apps. I have no idea what is going on with the guys I am matching with but they are only encouraging me to stay single. There was one message that broke the camel's back...but we will get to that later.

Let me share with you the messages that cause me to delete these dang apps

The classic EMILY - KALA switcheroo!

Clearly, this was a copy and paste mistake. I have to admire his efficiency but thanks for making me feel like just another match, instead of taking a second to craft a personalized message.

And he SUPER liked me. I guess he didn't like me that much haha.

I hope he and Emily are going strong.

That time I put my foot in mouth...

I am going, to be honest. I was impressed with his job but of ALL DAYS to say this. Why did I pick that day. And to be honest there was no saving myself. I eventually unmatched with him.

#NSFW - The VERY Inappropriate initial message.

I love pick-up lines. They are very funny, even I use them, and I rarely receive inappropriate messages so this was a first for me but he had to know this was not going to work. I downloaded the Facebook Dating app at 5PM and deleted it shortly after.

The message that was the last straw

I just wanted to say thank you to Ryan who put the nail in the coffin to delete all my apps. He could have just searched my name and emailed me but nooooooooooooo he had to take chance on Hinge. While I like the initiative, I felt a little duped. At least he didn't waste my time.

I know ill give dating apps a try in the future but I think I needed this break.
