The last year has been hard on a lot of people. But all that time at home has resulted in a lot of young people learning some big lessons, especially when it comes to their health.
A new survey of Millennials and Gen Z finds:
- 70% say the past year has made them realize that they should “not sweat the small stuff” in their daily lives.
- 60% say they are now prioritizing themselves and their own needs, something they hadn’t been doing before.
- 68% say they’ve had a self-awakening over the past year to make their own health a priority.
- One of those ways is practicing self-care, with 90% saying they now have a routine to do so, spending an hour a day on themselves.
- 70% say spending time on themselves is their way of investing in future health and wellness.
- 49% say doing so helps them maintain their overall health, while 45% say it boosts their self-esteem.
- Some of the ways folks practice self-care include:
- Yoga
- Meditation
- Exercise
- Face masks
- Curling up with a good book
- Bubble baths
- Enjoying a glass of wine
