Add another thing to the list of things that Gen Z has brought back! This time, it’s vinyl. Not that vinyl ever really went anywhere, but it’s no secret that it dipped in popularity. Now, Gen Z is buying more vinyl than millennials.
A new survey of 4,041 people aged 13 and over from MRC Data found that 15% of Gen Z respondents had purchased vinyl in the past 12 months. Only 11% of millennial respondents had the same answer.
Another cool finding of the survey? Twenty-eight percent of Gen Z fans reported they found new music from video games and 51% said they found it from social media. TikTok itself was cited as responsible for 49% of new music discovery.
