An annual haunted house in Virginia’s Loudoun County that benefits The Arc of Loudoun, a nonprofit advocacy organization for people with disabilities and their families. Shocktober is held at Carlheim Manor in Leesburg, Va., a historic home that’s transformed into a scary place to visit throughout October.
Ni Family Light Show (2528 Drexel Street, Vienna)
The Ni family in Vienna put on a spectacular light show in their front yard. You pull up to their house, sync up to the radio station and let the spooky lights entertain you for about 30 minutes. O! And it's free!

Laurel's House of Horror & Escape Room is proud to be Maryland's scariest haunted group of attractions built inside of an abandoned movie theater. Our House of Horror haunted house is available from September through October, while our new "Escape the Movies" escape room is available year-round.
The Workhouse Performance Art Group (Lorton, VA)
The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia is a vibrant, 55-acre center for the arts and arts education that, through adaptive reuse, utilizes existing structures on repurposed land in the former Lorton Reformatory.
This year’s Workhouse Haunt immerses guests through a highly-themed walk-through experience, as creepy characters deliver contactless scares in multiple scenes. Guests will travel in small groups for a frightening 30-minute experience that brings them next to the site’s abandoned, historic buildings and into the dark woods where they will encounter terrifying characters and sights that are not for the faint of heart.
