Most people go into a marriage hoping and expecting it to last forever. But of course, that doesn’t always happen and a lot of marriages end in divorce. There are a lot of reasons marriages don’t work out, and a new report suggests where you live could be one of them.
- A new 24/7 Wall Street report reveals the Worst State in America to be Married in.
- The list is based on data from a study by photo lab Printique.
- They looked at things like yearly divorces per 1,000 people, duration of current marriages and the number of people never married per 1,000.
- The data finds that 20.1 years is the current average duration of a marriage, with 7.35 divorces in the past year per 1,000 people, and with never marrieds coming out to 339.8 per 1,000 people.
- Overall, Nevada is the worst state to be married, with the average duration of a marriage just 17.4 years, and 9.39 divorces per 1,000 people.
- Maine is the best state to be married in.
- The worst list is made up of a lot of Southwest states, while half of the Top 10 best states are in the Northeast.
