The Airports With The Longest Wait Times

While going on vacation is exciting, having to deal with endless wait times at the airport can damper any trip. Well, there’s no doubt that at some airports travelers experience much longer waits than others and now a new report reveals where folks have it the worst. 

  • In case you missed it, the luggage storage company Bounce has come out with a list of the airports with the longest wait times.
  • They used data from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.S. Customs & Border Protection, looking at average wait times in security lines as well as in passport control lines, plus a combination of the two.
  • The airport with the overall longest wait times is Miami International Airport.
  • The average wait time through security is 24 min, 55 seconds, while the average passport control wait time is 22 minutes, 3 seconds, or a combined wait time of 46 min, 57 seconds.
  • When it comes to just TSA, Florida’s Palm Beach airport has the longest wait time, over 36 minutes.

As for the airport with the shortest wait time, that’s Raleigh-Durham International Airport (North Carolina), where the average TSA wait time is 10 minutes, 6 seconds, the average passport control wait time is 6 minutes, 3 seconds, for a combined 16 minutes, 9 seconds.
