Hinge Adds An "Intention" Feature To Their App

Hinge is helping out singles who are stuck in a situationship. The app found that 34% of their users found themselves stuck in a “situationship” before and they’re doing something about it. They’ve introduced a new “dating intentions” feature which allows users to show what they really want to get out of the app.

Users can now edit their profile and choose a dating goal that will be shown on their profile. The dating goal choices are life partner, long-term, long-term/open to short-term, short-term/open to long-term, short-term, and figuring out my dating goals.

This new feature is meant to help you see who on the app has a similar dating goal to you, and can help you say no to those who don’t before you even get invested. You can easily filter out now those who you can see off the bat don’t want the same things as you.

There’s also a new feature called “Backstory,” which can give your dating profile more details. There’s an open-text option where you can express yourself in your own words.
