Forbes Names World’s 100 Most Powerful Women

“Forbes” has just come out with their list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women for 2022 and some of your favorite females are on it. Topping the list is European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who has certainly had a challenging year dealing with Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Other notable American women include Vice President Kamala Harris at number three and Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors in fourth. Philanthropist Melinda French Gates is sixth on the list and MacKenzie Scott is number 11. Nancy Pelosi comes in 25th and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, is number 33.

On the celebrity side, Oprah Winfrey is the highest at 24, because after all, she is Oprah. Rihanna also returns to the list, coming in at number 73 and Taylor Swift - who’s having an incredible year breaking records and Ticketmaster’s website - isn’t far behind at 79. List returnee Beyoncé follows right after at number 80 on the list, and Reese Witherspoon lands at 86 and Shonda Rhimes comes in at number 93. And would it really be a list of the most powerful women in the world if it didn’t include Dolly Parton? The legend lands at 96th this year.
