Update: Damar Hamlin Showing “Signs Of Progress”

There’ve been a few more developments concerning the recovery of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, and other stories pertaining to it.

  • First, the most important news is about Hamlin’s status. A report from the Bills camp says Hamlin “remains in the ICU in critical condition with signs of improvement.” He’s “expected to remain in intensive care as his health care team continues to monitor and treat him.”
  • NFL executives have praised the emergency response teams for their quick response and action. Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor commended Bills coach Sean McDermott and how he carried himself as events unfolded, saying, “When I got over there, the first thing (McDermott) said was, ‘I need to be at the hospital for Damar. I shouldn’t be coaching this game’.” Taylor added, “Seeing the way he handled his team just deepened that respect for him and verified everything I always thought he was about as a man.”
  • ESPN is “sticking by its report” that the NFL “initially planned to resume Monday night’s game.” To counter that, Troy Vincent once again emphatically and emotionally denied the report, and called it “insensitive to think that we were even thinking about returning to play.”
  • Shannon Sharpe returned to “Undisputed” alongside Skip Bayless after taking Tuesday off…it didn’t go well, with the two clearly having issues with each other surrounding Bayless’ poorly received tweet after Damar Hamlin collapsed on Monday night. It makes one wonder if the two of them can even continue working together.
