People Are Moving To Revamp Their Love Life

Finding the right person to spend your life with is no easy task, but it turns out, where you live could make a difference. A new survey of 5-thousand Americans in relationships split evenly by state finds that one in five haven’t ever been in a relationship that lasted longer than three years. But if you’re looking for someone who’ll stick around long-term, New Hampshire may be your best bet as they have the most people whose relationship has lasted at least 15 years.

The poll conducted by OnePoll and commissioned by LELO also reveals:

  • Nearly half of the respondents (45%) who moved to a new state admit part of the reason they did was to revamp their love life.
  • Folks in Utah (35%) are most likely to identify as “hopeless romantics,” followed by those from Oklahoma (34%), West Virginia (32%), Pennsylvania (32%) and Missouri (32%).
  • While 21% of all respondents admit to having cheated on a partner, that number is much higher for those in Wisconsin at 52%.
  • The average person has seriously dated four people in their lifetime.
  • People go on an average of two dates a week, with the most popular date-night activities including going out to dinner (46%), spending a night at home together (28%) and going to the movies (22%).
  • When it comes to sex, respondents have it an average of three times a week, but 24% say they have sex most nights.
  • Just over a third (36%) rate their sex life as “excellent,” but that number is higher in Louisiana at 58%, South Carolina with 54% and Delaware at 50%.
  • As for how long people wait to have sex, 29% of those surveyed got intimate with their current partner within a month of being with them. And folks from Utah are most likely to have waited at least a year (31%).
